Clark girls Disneyland trip

My sister, Anna Lisa turned 40 this year and wanted a girls trip to celebrate.  Who were we to deny her such a small request??
Selfie while on the Disneyland shuttle to meet my sisters and mom at the hotel.
I was trying to look excited, I don't know what happened.  I am not photogenic!

Fantasyland

On our first day at Disneyland, we wore these fun mouse ears that Isa
made and personalized for us. We got a lot of compliments and it was fun to match each other.
You can't see from the pictures very well, but they were adorned with our favorite flowers. Mine was tulips.

First ride, Thunder mountain railroad

Did I mention that we didn't bring our kids?  This picture shows our compassionate
pity for other moms lugging around strollers.

When you are in the front seat at Splash Mountain, a 99 cent poncho is worthless.

See?
If you kiss a frog will he turn into a prince?  It worked for Jeff, so why not this one?

I have an unshakeable love of cotton candy.  I know it's just sugar without any
complexity of flavors, but it is so fun to eat!

Waiting for the Electric parade, eating our chili dogs.  We snagged the best seats on Main Street!

California Adventureland

We had lunch at Ariel's Grotto and got to meet some of the Disney Princesses.
I was excited mainly for the delicious food, but I played along for the photo.

If my mom doesn't look excited for the dessert sampler, it's because she is on a restricted diet
and can only eat the graham cracker and marshmallows on top of the smore truffle.

Risae just told me something funny

And then she told me something even more funny

Mom did not appreciate the rocking  and swaying of Mickey's Fun wheel

Waiting in line for the Cars ride

I think Risae caught both Isa and I fixing our hair after our thrilling Cars race.  First things first!

Our spot for the World of Color show

It's finally our turn for California Soarin' after waiting in a slow-moving line for an hour.
We are trying to look excited for the ride, but I think these ladies could use a nap.

Day 2 of Fantasyland

Dole Whips!!

Isa was so funny on this ride.  Every time we took a fast turn or drop she would do a short high squeal
and then follow it with three "ha-ha-has"

Mom has always had a taste for the macabre

We are genuinely thrilled to ride Indian Jones, as it was closed for most of the trip and we just barely
got in before they closed it again.  Lucky ladies!

Mickey mouse beignets...ahhhhh...

Touring Hollywood, the beach, and Queen Mary

Yes, we were silly tourists and it was pretty fun, dang it!

My sister got all of the photogenic genes.  Killer selfie, Zae.

Whoops, sorry Donald Trump, I didn't mean to squat directly over your star.  Or did I...?

We got stuck behind this moving truck as it clumsily tried to make it's way through the hills behind Hollywood.

Pretty, but cold day at the beach.  Risae traded jackets with me because my years in Houston
have rendered me utterly defenseless against a chill.

Our tour of the Queen Mary on our last day in California was perfect.  Beautiful, historical and low-key for a bunch of tired out women pretending to be kids all week.

This is where we parted ways, they to Utah and me to Houston. We are so grateful to our husbands for taking care of things while we were away, they gave us an unforgettable treat.

Superbowl

This is what happens when you have 2:30 church and
all morning to prepare for a superbowl party.

Mallory helped me decorate the cake pops and Jason created the display board.
