april fools
April Fools was fun this year. Mallory was finally old enough to get the jokes, and she even made one up of her own. She wanted to turn the clocks forward one hour to make Jason and Ben think they were late, and it was all going according to plan until she told Jason "Daddy, since it's April Fools, I didn't change the clocks. They're not broken. They're fine." Daddy was a good sport and still acted surprised, rushing out the door.
Next, Mallory and I played a joke on her friends while we were at the zoo. We made muddy worm snacks. I didn't let them know that it was chocolate pudding and gummy worms at first, and one little boy whispered to his mom, handing the baggy over, "I don't like mud."
